Keyano College Sport and Wellness Centre
In 2007, a much needed recreation and training centre opened its doors at Keyano College
in Fort McMurray. The Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre is a multi-use sport and wellness complex situated on campus and operated as a facility of Keyano College. Total E&P Canada contributed $250,000 to the construction of the Centre’s first-level concourse, which includes a daycare, basketball courts, soccer fields, and various multi-function fitness rooms.
The community of Fort McMurray is an integral part of our investments in Canada. We will be investing funds throughout the community to ensure it remains a vibrant place to live and work.
Jean-Michel Gires, President & CEO of Total E&P Canada
The Centre provides a mixture of structured and casual sport and wellness opportunities for Keyano College staff and students, residents of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB), as well as local, regional, and provincial sporting organizations. It will provide recreation and wellness programs for Total E&P Canada’s employees and contractors who will be working at our future projects in the area.
Total has also donated $845,000 over five years towards a Keyano College Campus Enrichment Program, donated a mobile greenhouse to the College and is an annual sponsor of its Gala and Lights Christmas event.
