Investing in Communities
Since 2009, Total E&P Canada has invested more than $5 million in community support, capacity building, cultural programs and environmental stewardship in the communities in which we live and operate.
Community Investment Program
Our Community Investment Program supports registered charities and not-for-profit societies whose services are provided in communities in which we operate or which have a connection to our multinational operations. See the Funding page for details regarding funding requests.
Our Community Investment program focuses on three key areas:
Community Support
Emphasizing capacity building and sustainability to create liveable communities:
- Keyano College Campus Enrichment Program (Fort McMurray)
- Keyano College Sport and Wellness Centre (Fort McMurray)
- MacDonald Island Activity Hub (Wood Buffalo)
- Days of Caring turns into Years of Giving for the Homeless (Calgary)
- Janvier and OSLI support Haiti (Janvier / Chard)
- Total’s Conservation offsets in Alberta Boreal region (Fort McMurray)
Cultural Heritage
Initiatives reflecting the arts, history preservation, Aboriginal customs, multiculturalism, Total’s francophone roots, bilingualism, and international outreach:
- The Trail to Moose Lake: Listening to the Elders (Fort McKay)
- Total Goes Under the Big Top (Greater Edmonton)
- Rebuilding Fort Saskatchewan (Greater Edmonton)
Education
Capacity-building, creating and improving educational opportunities and services within the industry context for youth and post-secondary students, and leveraging recruiting opportunities:
- Total Greenhouse in Fort McMurray (Fort McMurray)
- Total partners with Lycée Louis Pasteur (Calgary)
- 1,000 students learn about the environment on Arbor Day (Greater Edmonton)
- Taking Edmontonians on a 'Cosmic Journey' (Greater Edmonton)
Total Foundation
To further assist with the philanthropic activities in countries where Total operates, our global Total Foundation emphasizes and supports long-term partnerships in every area of our activity. In addition to providing financial support, the Foundation seeks to utilize the work of experts to expand human knowledge through community support, culture and environment.
