Community Engagement: Strathcona County

Total Goes Under the Big Top

Over 200 children discovered their inner clown at the Total Under the Big Top day camps in August. For the second year, Total sponsored the week-long camps which enabled children ages 6-17 to learn and experience magic, puppetry and physical theatre.

“Total E&P Canada was pleased to renew its commitment to Total Under the Big Top,” says Total’s Jean-Pierre Dordan, Vice President, Upgrader. “Our $100,000 investment over the past two years indicates our commitment to Strathcona County by allowing the camp to double its size and open its doors to 240 children, one third of whom wouldn’t be able to participate without funding by Total. Our participation in the daily life of our neighbours is part of how we do business, and Total is proud to contribute to the community.”

Canadian performers, known world-wide for their dedication and innovation in circus arts, provided age-appropriate instruction in a variety of circus skills, including stilt-walking, juggling and more for the even more adventurous participants.
